SIU Concessions

Working concessions at SIU basketball games is a good way to earn credits without having to ask someone to buy something. It is a great way to raise money for the MMS Booster organization as well as earn credits for band students.

Twelve people are needed to run a concession stand. Cash registers must be operated by adults. No one under the age of eighteen may operate a cash register. Also, an adult is needed to oversee meat preparation. Students can make popcorn, pretzels, and nachos, fill sodas and be great helpers. For each student working, one adult must also work.

Prior to a shift, everything in the stand has to be inventoried. At the end of the shift we count everything remaining to determine how much we sold and compare it to the money collected. This is why we come early and have to stay a little while after the game is over. We also need to clean up when a shift is over.

We request that you wear a Blue Devil Band or Blue Devil shirt when working concessions. Our Blue Devil pride is a great way to show people who we are working for.

Please consider volunteering for a concessions shift. If you have never done anything like this before, those with experience will be glad to give you a hand.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact Brian Johnson via email at bjej1996@yahoo.com.
