Re: Blue Devil Band Camp for 2008-2009 MMS Bands

Dear Parent/student,

I hope that everyone has had a great year, and will have an enjoyable summer! I wanted to send out a reminder for the summer band camp schedule. The schedule for band camp will be similar as in years past. Remember, all students must bring insurance information with them to camp and turn it into the office. This is required by the school district. Also, remember to make sure your student(s) are signed up for band when you are doing registration.

There will be 10 days of rehearsal prior to the first week of school. Jul. 30th, 31st, and Aug. 1st will be for beginning students only (6th grade in 2008 – 2009), and ALL percussion. Percussionist will need these first extra 3 days because they have twice the music to learn. Aug. 4th – 8th, and Aug. 11th – 12th will be for all 2008 – 2009 MMS Band students

All students need to attend these camp dates. If there is a conflict, PLEASE contact me BEFORE rehearsals begin.

The following schedule will be used:

Jul 30th, 31st, and Aug 1st

9:00 AM – 10:00 AM - 6th Grade Brass and Woodwinds
10:00 AM – 11:30 AM - All Percussion

Aug 4th – Aug 8th, Aug 11th and 12th

9:00 AM – 10:00 AM - Brass and Woodwinds
10:00 AM – 11:00 AM - Full Band (Brass, Woodwinds, and Percussion)
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM  - Percussion  

9:00 AM – 12:00 PM - Color Guard, with Mrs. Hanson

Students will be fitted for uniforms and t-shirts at the camp. There will be a $5.00 fee for uniforms (cleaning) and a $10.00 fee for the purchase of t-shirts. Any parent that can help with the uniform fitting, please call the MMS Band office (number below) and leave a message. If there are any conflicts or questions about the dates or times (baseball and softball), please call me at the MMS Band office (618) 684 – 3041, ext. 2224.

2008 – 2009 should be the best year ever for the MMS band program!!
